Established in 2004, Water's Edge Consulting (WEC) has extensive experience in developing science-based tools for assessing the condition of aquatic ecosystems, and in applying these tools to guide planning and management activities.

WEC takes pride in being up-to-date with the most current advances in aquatic science, and specialise in converting this knowledge into user-friendly solutions for water resource management agencies and community groups.

Expertise

Rhonda is an aquatic ecologist with over 30 years of experience delivering high quality applied environmental management and research outcomes. Her breadth of skills spans, aquatic ecology, conservation ecology, ecohydrology, and cultural science: from theoretical science to highly applied management solutions. She has experience working at a range of scales from intensive investigations at single sites, to regional and catchment-based studies, to large scale multi-jurisdictional initiatives for the Australian Government. Rhonda has considerable experience in the management and assessment of aquatic ecosystems, having worked in fresh, saline, and estuarine ecosystems; depressional inland wetlands, coastal, karst, rivers, and floodplain ecosystems. 

Rhonda is skilled at linking science to management decisions by facilitating connections between the science-knowledge holders and end users. She is experienced in working across disciplines, trusted by many as an honest broker, able to foster trust, build relationships and confidence that all opinions will be canvassed and heard.  She is familiar with organising and participating in expert panels and independent advisory groups.
